The second wave of coronavirus has hit the country terribly. The infection is increasing by leaps and bounds. Every day there are new records of deaths and injuries. Considering the gravity of the situation, the government has declared a week-long ‘lockdown’ across the country from Monday (April 5). Earlier, the government had issued 18-point directives to prevent the infection, but the people did not respond much.

There is still no sign of people following the hygiene rules. Many are seen moving without masks. Writer and presenter Asif Entaj Robi has written an open letter urging three leading scholars of the country Maulana Mamunul Haque, Maulana Mizanur Rahman Azhari and Shaykh Ahmadullah to come forward to raise public awareness in such a situation.

He wrote on his verified Facebook account-

Shaikh Mizanur Rahman Azhari
Shaykh Muhammad Mamunul Haq
Shaykh Ahmadullah,

Take my salute and love. You know very well that God has given you a power. The people of the country listen to you. People try to comply with whatever you say. This is a special blessing given by Allah. People will not listen to what the world’s greatest scientists, ministers, ministers say, people will listen to what you say.

The whole world is in dire straits because of Corona. In particular, the situation in Bangladesh has reached a deplorable level in the last few days. There is no place in hospitals. People are rushing from one hospital to another with patients. Just as shore fish die in a rush, so do people die in ambulances with shortness of breath. There are probably many reasons behind this. But the main reason: human unconsciousness. Bagha Bagha scientists from all over the world are giving various suggestions. Doctors are also pleading. But we do not follow their advice.

I have no hesitation in saying this, the people of Bangladesh listen to you with interest. Not only do they listen, they follow it literally. The three of you can’t say a word at the same time, so that people follow the rules of hygiene. Only if you give instructions, a large number of people in Bangladesh will follow it.

I am a little writer. My path and your way are different. But at the end of the day we are all human beings, all citizens of Bangladesh. Can’t we work together on this one issue? Can’t tell people, you don’t go out of the house unnecessarily, keep your hands clean, wear a mask? If you don’t play a role in the biggest disaster in the world, who will we complain to?

My humble request to the three of you, let’s make a team. You stay in that team, you become a doctor, you stay an expert. The job of this team will be to create public awareness.

Many vaccines have come on the market to deal with corona. Various medicines have arrived. However, the most effective medicine is called public awareness. If only people were aware, Corona could be dealt with. God will have mercy on us if people are guided.

My appeal to the three of you, please take an effective role in creating public awareness against one of you.

Infinite respect.
The humble petitioner
Ashif Entaj Robi. ”
