Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that the Middle East or West Asia is becoming unstable because of America’s divisive policies. He added that this policy has made the security of the Middle East and its environs paralyzed.
Sergei Lavrov made the remarks at a joint news conference with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the Pakistani capital Islamabad on Wednesday.
He says Moscow is completely opposed to changing or dividing the region’s existing infrastructure. In doing so, Lavrov apparently pointed to the multifaceted activities of the US government.
The Russian Foreign Minister added that Moscow welcomes the dialogue between the two sides to resolve the existing dispute between Pakistan and arch-rival India.
During the meeting, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi briefed Lavrov on the situation in troubled Kashmir. The Kashmir issue is a major source of tension between Pakistan and India. “We hope Russia will play a role in bringing peace to the region,” he told a news conference.
He said he had met with the Russian foreign minister to review cooperation in the areas of energy, security, counter-terrorism and defense in particular.
Due to Corona, the term of the executive committee of the US-Bangladesh Press Club (ABPC) has been extended till December. After a detailed discussion at the joint meeting of the ABPC Executive Committee and the Election Commission on the afternoon of April 8, further decisions were taken, the already constituted Election Commission will remain in force for the next election. As per the decision taken at the meeting, the membership fee for 2020 has also been waived.
