In Sylhet, a housewife named Sufia Begum (22) has been accused of pushing her husband to death. Police have arrested Ainul Haque, son of Masuk Miah of Bagbari area under Kotwali police station.
The incident took place on Sunday (March 8) in the Khadim Tea Garden area under Airport Police Station. In the morning, housewife Sufia was taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital by her family members in a critical condition and doctors declared her dead. The deceased was identified as Sufia Begum, daughter of late Harun Miah of Khadim Tea Garden (Mitringa Line Baraitala) under Airport Police Station.
According to police sources, housewife Sufia Begum and her husband Ainul Haque had a quarrel almost all the time. Even Ainul used to beat him due to disputes. Sufia Begum got married to Ainul about 6 months ago. On Saturday (March 7), Ainul went to visit his wife’s father-in-law’s house. That night Ainul pushed an injection into the hand of his wife Sufia Begum. When the sister of the deceased Sufia Begum was asked to push the injection at that time, Ainul informed her that she had been given the injection due to physical illness.
The next day, Sunday (March 8), at 8:50 am, Sufia Begum suddenly fell ill and was taken to Osmani Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Sylhet Airport Police Station OC Mainul Islam Zakir said the family of the deceased had alleged that housewife Sufia Begum was killed by pushing an injection. Police have arrested Ainul, the victim’s husband. Doctors said housewife Sufia died before she was taken to hospital. The matter is being investigated by the police. Preparations are underway to file a case at the police station.
