Earlier, a notification was issued by the Cabinet Division on April 12 announcing the lockdown. The government has given 13 instructions in the lockdown. Government and non-government organizations will be closed for eight days as per the instructions. Public transport will be closed. However, organizations providing emergency services are open. The factory is open. Banking services are being provided in limited range. It is not possible to go out without an emergency at this time. In the open space, raw materials and daily necessities can be traded from 9 am to 3 pm.
Coronavirus (Covid-19) infections have been on the rise at an alarming rate since the previous lockdown on April 5 from 6 am to 6 am on April 14. However, this lockdown was largely ineffective, leaving public transport and markets open. At the same time, the National Technical Advisory Committee recommended a two-week full lockdown in city corporations and municipal areas. Zone based lockdown again in Chittagong
According to the Chittagong bureau, a zonal lockdown has started in the port city of Chittagong considering the rate of corona infection again. Meanwhile, the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has declared Joynagar residential area of Chawkbazar police station and staff quarters of Chamek Hospital as red zones. Yesterday morning, the police brought these two areas under the red zone and hung banners.
According to the IEDCR guidelines, the area can be considered a red zone if more than 60 out of every one lakh people are infected with corona. As such, the number of corona cases in this part of Chawkbazar area has exceeded four hundred. So this area has been marked as a red zone and locked down.
Last year, 10 areas of Chittagong City Corporation were identified as red zones due to rapid increase in corona infection. The North Kattli area was experimentally locked down.
