‘Aedes mosquito larvae are found almost everywhere’

Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DADSIC), directed the Regional Executive Officers (DEOs) to closely monitor the mosquito control activities at the field level and the closed sewer cleaning activities received from WASA. “In the mobile court operation, we see that some Aedes mosquito larvae are found almost everywhere,” he said.

Barrister Sheikh Taposh, the mayor of Udasik, gave the instructions at a meeting with all the regional executive officers and department heads of Udasik on Wednesday at the Zoom platform.

“April is coming to an end, Eid is ahead. At this time, we are seeing an outbreak of dengue mosquitoes and some Aedes mosquito larvae are found everywhere,” said Barrister Sheikh Tapas, the mayor. You will oversee our efforts so that our activities are not disrupted in any way. ”

“Open sewer cleaning activities are part of our ongoing work plan. We also have closed sewers that we have received from WASA but we have already started hiring contractors to clean them through the waste management department,” said Sheikh Tapas, Barrister. I’m taking action. ”

Instructing the regional executive officers to oversee these closed sewer cleaning activities, Odishak Mayor Barrister Sheikh Taposh said, “WASA had a budget and annual activities for sewer cleaning. But we have seen that it has never been fruitful. “Yes, the drainage has not been done properly. The contractors we are cleaning up these closed sewers are cleaning up the waste properly. You (the Anikbars) have to supervise those field level. You have to go around and see.”

Dhakasik Mayor Barrister Sheikh Taposh said, “We have to continue our infrastructure development work as usual. We need to co-operate with the contractors so that they can complete the work we have ordered on time. Because a big part of our work is waterlogging “We are working on a combination of waste management and infrastructure development, so that we can better control the upcoming monsoon season and keep it free from waterlogging.”

The online meeting was conducted by ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, Chief Executive Officer of Udasik and was attended by Rezaur Rahman, Chief Engineer of the Corporation, Akramuzzaman, Secretary, Heads of various departments and Regional Executive Officers.
