‘Government is thinking of launching public transport’

After the ongoing lockdown, the government is actively thinking of introducing public transport conditionally in compliance with the health rules considering the public interest. However, the use of masks and hand sanitizers should be made compulsory.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said this at an exchange meeting with Barisal Road Zone, BRTC and BRTA officials here on Saturday (April 24). He joined the meeting virtually from his official residence.

Obaidul Quader said, “After the ongoing lockdown, the government is actively thinking of launching public transport conditionally in compliance with the health rules considering the public interest. However, the use of masks and hand sanitizers should be made compulsory. He said, “They will be punished if they take more than the fare that was fixed by leaving half the seats vacant in public transport.”

The general secretary of the Awami League said, ‘A political party of the country is the supplier and sponsor of the false propaganda being carried out in the country and abroad using social media.

“Opposition parties are critical of digital security for those who are punished for propaganda and rumors,” the Awami League general secretary said.

Obaidul Quader asked, “Every day the opposition says what is not against the government, not even leaving the Prime Minister to use obscene language, but is anyone there being harassed or arrested for these statements?” “Digital security must be given to the people, and rumors and propaganda severely disrupt security,” he said.
