On the occasion of Mujib Year, Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s gift to the landless and homeless under the Disaster Resistant Housing Construction Project in Saltha, Faridpur, 175 homeless families are getting new houses in the second phase of the first phase. Construction of the second phase of the house is nearing completion. The houses will be handed over to the homeless families in the second phase before Eid, sources said.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Hasib Sarkar and Aceland Marufa Sultana Khan Hiramani visited the houses in different unions of the upazila. Upazila Project Implementation Officer Paritosh Barai and others were present at the time.
Upazila Project Implementation Officer Paritosh Barai said, “175 houses are being constructed for the second phase of the first phase in Saltha as a gift to the homeless in the year of Mujib.” There is an allocation of one lakh 71 thousand rupees for each house. Each house has a kitchen with a brick wall, a concrete floor and two bedrooms made of colored tin canopy, a kitchen, a toilet and an open front porch.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Hasib Sarkar said the Prime Minister’s promise is that no one will be homeless in this country. To that end, they have already handed over 35 houses in the first phase of the first phase in Saltha. In the second phase, 175 more housing works are nearing completion. The houses will be handed over to the homeless families before Eid.
Eid is going to be the “World Premiere” of “Aibir” movie on Dipta TV. The popular movie starring Shakib Khan and Bubli will run on the first day of Dipta TV’s 7-day Eid program. The movie Bir, made in the political context of Bangladesh, will be released in cinemas in 2020.
This is the first time the film is going to be aired on television. The story, screenplay, dialogue and direction of the film is co-produced by Kazi Hayat and co-produced by Shakib Khan and Mohammad Iqbal under the banner of SK Films.
Meanwhile, a child named Ankhimani (6) drowned in Sharankhola of Bagerhat. The child went missing after falling into the pond of Nana Kamrul Hawladar’s house in Uttar Badhal village of Dhansagar union of the upazila around 9am on Monday. He was rescued from the pond at around 10:30 am and taken to the hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
Anu Begum, the mother of the child, said that her daughter went missing in the morning. At one stage of the search in different places, the pond was searched and rescued. He was later taken to Sharankhola Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Local UP member Asaduzzaman Swapan confirmed the death of the child and said that her husband Selim Hawlader had not inquired about his wife and children for a long time. Anu Begum left her husband and lived in her father’s house.
