Maulana Selim Hossain Azadi: Ramadan is the month of self-formation. The routine of Ramadan should be arranged in such a way that even the unaccustomed people become accustomed to worship. And the accustomed can worship more. We all have plans to eat seheri in the month of Ramadan. But many do not plan to perform Tahajjud prayers. The plan of Ramadan will play an effective role in getting used to Tahajjud. In this way, after Fajr, after Eshrak and after Maghrib, Awabin should be practiced. If you can organize the routine of Ramadan in this way, it will be easier to form yourself and get the full benefits of Ramadan. Who is more unfortunate than the one who could not purify himself even after getting Ramadan?
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to prepare for Ramadaan loudly after the 15th of Shabaan had passed. When Ramadan came, he would recite the Qur’an and give alms like a flowing wind. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to recite the entire Qur’aan to Gabriel (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) once in Ramadaan. Gabriel (peace be upon him) used to recite the whole Qur’an to the Prophet (peace be upon him). In the year in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) died, recite the two finished Qur’ans to Gabriel (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The Qur’an must be given priority in our Ramadan plans.
Those who cannot read the Qur’an will learn to read the Qur’an. I will understand the Qur’an and act accordingly. Only then will Holy Ramadan and the Qur’an recommend for us. Ramadan is the month of receiving Allah and forgiving sins. Every moment of the month of Ramadan has to be spent in a planned way to ensure liberation from hell. We need to plan now to reduce our busyness.
Itikaf should be tried as much as possible for the last ten days. Our misfortune is that at the beginning of Ramadan, the tide in worship actually goes down at the end. Many people are busy in the market and shopping in the last days, so they can not perform the obligatory prayers. So if there is a suggestion, finish the purchase now if possible. At the end of Ramadan, plan to spend more time in the mosque than in the market. If one does not realize the true meaning of rosary, one will not attain self-purification just by performing rituals. If you do not eat all day, you will not fast. Fasting is the name of sadhana.
This pursuit will continue for life. Tarabi, Tahajjud, Qur’anic practice are all part of this practice. Similarly, fasting all day is only a part of fasting. Unfortunately, the truth is that we have only considered this part as fasting. Fasting is the fasting of the soul. Money fasting. Fasting of action. Thoughts are also fasting. True fasting is the name of following the path shown by Allah in every aspect of life.
Ask the soul how much we have prepared our body-soul, mind-mind for Ramadan? One thing to keep in mind for preparing for Ramadan is to prepare spiritually as well as formally. This is very important. We have to save our soul from injustice, injustice, bribery and lies. Yes! We have been drowning in a sea of sin for so long. But it’s time to go back. To repent.
On the occasion of Ramadan, we have to start a pure life by repenting from all kinds of injustices. And for this we have to take mental and practical steps from now on. Maybe this Ramadan is the last Ramadan of my life. I will not get any more Ramadan after this year. Therefore, this Ramadan should be taken as a golden opportunity for self-purification and forgiveness of sins. O tender reader; If you can spend this holy month in spiritual fasting, know that you will be the luckiest. Whom Allah will call to Paradise. O Allah, grant us Tawfiq so that we may observe pure fasting. Author: Prominent commentators on the Qur’an and media personalities; Chairman, Bangladesh Mufassir Society.
