Later, with the consent of the two, they converted to Islam and the new name of Sravanti Mandal was changed to Jannatul Ferdous. Later they got married and returned to Daulatkhan.

Last Friday, some local influential people forcibly handed over the bride to her family. At that time, someone secretly recorded the scene of the bride’s crying on her mobile phone. On the night of the incident, the video went viral on social media Facebook. There is anger among many about this. The accused influential people covered their bodies after the video was spread. Their mobile phones were found switched off when they tried to communicate.

On the other hand, after Sravanti Mandal went missing, her father Shankar Chandra Mandal filed a written complaint of abduction. He later filed a case under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act on the basis of the allegations. Sravanti was rescued in the case and handed over to her family.

As seen in the video, Sravanti Mandal alias Jannatul Ferdous was saying in a tearful voice- he will not go to his parents. Kamrul is her husband, she will be with him. At that time, he was seen holding the feet of a local councilor named Gias Uddin and crying.

On the other hand, the locals staged a protest rally under the banner ‘People of all walks of life in the upazila’ at around 5 pm on Monday in protest of the handing over of the new Muslim bride from her husband’s house to her Hindu parents. They demanded action against the local Awami League leader and his associates for forcibly handing over the bride to the police in exchange for money.

Qamrul Islam said, ‘If I had been abducted, I would have been hiding with my wife. I would not go to the local arbitration with him. My wife is shouting in front of everyone – she is converting to Islam. Even then, no one came to help us. ‘Kamrul Islam claimed that his wife was 18 years old. It is in Bhola Notary Public.

According to Gazipur Metropolitan Police and Daulatkhan Police, Kamrul had an affair with Sravanti Rani Mandal, daughter of Sanatan Dharmambali. Mokam Bhola later affidavited through a notary public with false information regarding Sravanti’s age. But according to the birth certificate and PSC certificate of the victim, the age is 15 years and 2 months. As a result, there is no basis for conversion and marriage.
