BNP executive member Nipun Roy Chowdhury and two others have been sent to jail after a three-day remand in a case filed against them for plotting sabotage. On Friday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masud-ur-Rahman ordered them to be sent to jail.
Another accused who went to jail is Arman Hossain.
After a three-day remand, Hazaribagh police sub-inspector (SI) Sudip Kumar Biswas produced them in court this afternoon and asked them to keep them in jail. Following that appeal, the judge ordered that they be sent to prison. On March 29, the court granted them a three-day remand.
It is learned that a call record of Nipun Roy, daughter-in-law of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member Gayeshwar Roy Chowdhury and executive member of the party, instructing to set fire to the car has spread on Facebook.
In the meantime, Nipun Roy was arrested from Rayerbazar area of the capital on March 26 by the white-clad law enforcement forces. A case was filed against him at Hazaribagh police station on charges of sabotage and arson.
