Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League joint general secretary Hasan Mahmud said, “While the country is moving forward, in the name of religion, BNP, Jamaat and a section are trying to push the country backwards by creating anarchy in the country.” The countrymen have to be alert and vigilant against them. He says those who use religion to create anarchy will never succeed.
According to a press release, Minister Hasan Mahmud made the remarks at a function at his constituency Rangunia Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Friday afternoon. The event was organized on the occasion of distribution of bicycles among the local fish farmers under the project of expansion of wheelchairs and fish farming technology among persons with disabilities by providing grants from the optional funds of the Minister.
Mentioning that people’s houses and cars have been burnt down in the name of anarchy in the name of Islam, the Information Minister said that they have set fire to important documents in the Hathazari land office, set fire to the fire service, these issues are never supported by Islam. He added, “Those who have tried to save the war criminals, those who are anti-independence, the BNP-Jamaat clique are still conspiring against the country.” And a group waiting to find an opportunity with their cooperation wants to create anarchy in the country by creating chaos in the name of Islam. ‘
Meanwhile, the information minister spoke as the chief guest on the concluding day of the ‘Basic Training in Journalism’ workshop at Kaptai Upazila Auditorium in Rangamati on Friday afternoon. He said that if the media does not work properly, multidimensional society and democratic society are harmed.
Journalists from Rangunia, Raozan, Kaptai, Rajasthan and Kaukhali upazilas took part in the workshop organized by Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB).
