‘Islam spreads when Awami League is in power’

Bangladesh Awami Juba League general secretary. Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil said, Islam is propagated and spread in Bangladesh only when Awami League is in power. Bangabandhu has taken various initiatives to develop Islam including the founder of the Islamic Foundation. Since then BNP-Jamaat, dictators have used Islam at different times, but no one has done anything for Islam. Like Bangabandhu, his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been playing an important role in the spread of Islam. Despite hearing the message of hope year after year, no one recognized it, but by recognizing the Qaumi Charter, the state leader Sheikh Hasina has been recognized as the Qaumi Janani.

The general secretary of Juba League said work is underway to set up 560 model mosques and Islamic cultural centers. Establishment of Islamic Arabic University, establishment of 1010 Darul Arkam Ibtedayi Madrasas across the country, digitization of Holy Quran, modernization of Hajj management and performance of record number of Hajj pilgrims; Establishment of 4-storey central library building of Islamic Foundation; Establishment of Imam-Muazzin Welfare Trust; Establishment of libraries in 6100 mosques; Establishment of 18 new Islamic Mission Centers; The Islamic Foundation has implemented a number of initiatives, including the introduction of pensions and the introduction of honors courses in 70 madrasas. This proves that Islam spreads only when the Awami League is in power.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a memorial meeting of late Dhaka-14 MP Aslamul Haque after Asr at the premises of Hazrat Shah Ali (ra) Mazar Mosque (Mirpur-1) in the capital on Saturday (April 10) afternoon. The event was jointly organized by the Juba League of the ward under Dhaka-14 constituency. Later, the general secretary of Juba League distributed cooked food among the milad mahfil and the destitute. At the time, the acting president of the Dhaka North Metropolitan Juba League Zakir Hossain Babul, general secretary. Central and metropolitan leaders including Ismail Hossain were present.

Md. Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil said that devout Muslims should be careful about those who want to destabilize the country through misinterpretation of Islam. They must be resisted to protect Islam.

Recalling MP Aslamul Haque, the Juba League general secretary said, “Aslamul Haque MP was the leader of the people.” He has worked for the welfare of the people. God will surely give him a good paradise. At the same time, he called upon all to work for whomever Sheikh Hasina nominates in the upcoming Dhaka-14 by-election.
