Oral examination of 40th BCS postponed

Oral examination of the 40th BCS has been postponed due to increased coronavirus (Covid-19) infection. The decision was taken at a special meeting of the Public Service Commission (PSC) on Monday. Test date will be informed later.

PSC Public Relations Officer Ishrat Sharmin confirmed the information.

PSC recently released the results of the 40th BCS written test. 4 lakh 12 thousand 532 candidates applied for the 40th BCS preliminary examination. Of these, 3 lakh 26 thousand candidates have appeared for the exam. Among them, 20,026 passed the preliminary. In August 2016, PSC published the notification of the 40th BCS.

A total of 1,903 cadres will be taken in the 40th BCS. In this, 200 people will be recruited in administration cadre, 72 in police, 25 in foreign countries, 24 each, 32 in customs and excise and about 600 in education cadre. However, this number may increase further.
