This is the highest number of deaths in a single day in Corona in the last seven months. Earlier, on August 28 last year, 54 people were killed in Corona.

And 5 thousand 42 patients infected with corona were identified yesterday. The previous day, 5,171 corona patients were identified on Monday.
So far, a total of 6 lakh 11 thousand 295 people have been diagnosed with corona infection in the country. Of these, 9,046 died. A total of 5 lakh 42 thousand 399 people have recovered.
In the last 24 hours, samples of 26 thousand 931 people have been tested. Considering the sample test, the patient identification rate is 19.90 percent.
Coronavirus infection peaked in the country in June-July last year. At that time, especially from the second week of June to the middle of July, an average of three to four thousand patients were identified every day. After the situation has been under control for some time, the infection has been on the rise again for more than a month. Of these, more than three and a half thousand patients are being identified (every day) for six days. In such a situation, public health experts say, the country’s infection situation is heading towards another peak.
In late 2019, the first coronavirus infection was detected in Wuhan, China. On March 7 last year, the first corona patient was identified in the country. The first corona-infected person in the country was declared dead on March 17.
The rate of patient identification at the beginning of the infection was low in the country. The infection started to increase from the middle of last May. From the last week of May to the third week of August, the patient identification rate was over 20 percent. From then on, the rate of identification of new patients also started to decrease. After a couple of months of declining infections, the upward trend in the rate of new cases and identification started from the beginning of last November. From December the infection began to decrease again. However, the infection has been on the rise again for more than five weeks.
The vaccination program was inaugurated on January 26 to control the corona epidemic. On the same day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Virtual Immunization Program from Ganobhaban. The mass vaccination program started in the country from February 8.
