Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said, “Mamata has publicly called on all Muslims to unite. He said, all Muslims should be one, do not let the vote be divided. What you are saying means that you also understand that the Muslim vote bank is not in your hands. Muslims are not with you either. You have to say these things in public, which means you are sure to lose the election, ”said Narendra Modi at a public meeting in Kochbihar on Tuesday.
It is learned that this comment is very significant in terms of the demographics of West Bengal as 26 to 30 per cent of the total votes cast in the state are Muslim. Since coming to power in the state in 2011, Mamata has tried to improve the backward Muslim community through various projects. There has been repeated evidence in the ballot box that the BJP has attacked Mamata in various ways at various times over the fact that most of the people of the Muslim community in West Bengal got their votes. The BJP’s main allegation is that it has persuaded Muslims to vote for Mamata.
At a meeting in Kochbihar today, the Prime Minister attacked Mamata in a different way. “If I had said that all Hindus should unite and vote for the BJP, as Mamata says, the Election Commission would have taken action against her,” he alleged. I don’t know if the commission will give you notice. But your statement says you are losing.
Modi’s claim that the way Mamata is firing on the commission, EVMs and the central forces shows that her rate is certain. Moreover, the Muslims who considered Mamata as their vote bank are now leaving her company.
At a meeting in Kochbihar, the Prime Minister demanded that if I had said that all Hindus should unite and vote for the BJP, as Modi had alleged, the Election Commission would have given me a notice for 7 to 8 days. The notice also came to the Prime Minister’s Office. I don’t know if the commission will give you notice. But your statement says you are losing.
