Following the cancellation of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s visit to India, Britain has imposed a ban on Indians entering the country. The announcement was made in the British Parliament on Monday by the country’s Health Minister Matt Hancock. He also said that the ban will be effective from April 24.
Corona infections are on the rise in India. The Indian Ministry of Health has said that no Indian will be allowed to enter Britain from this country. However, if any Irish or British nationals from India go to that country, they will not fall under this ban. However, if those citizens set foot in Britain during the embargo on India, they would have to spend a hefty sum of money to stay in quarantine for 10 days.
Hancock stood in the lower house of Britain’s parliament, the House of Commons, on Monday to discuss the ban. He added that similar sanctions have been imposed on citizens of Bangladesh and Pakistan as well as India. Citizens of these countries have been placed on the red list by imposing travel restrictions on Britain.
Recently, 103 infections of the Indian corona species have been detected in Britain. That is why the ban on Indians is believed to have been imposed.
