Police have charged two diplomats at the Pakistani embassy in South Korea with stealing goods from a shop. The two officers stole goods from a store in the country’s capital, Seoul, at different times.This was reported in a report in the country’s media The Korea Times on Monday.Police said on Saturday (April 24th) that the two officers stole goods worth 11,000 won (US ১০ 10) and 1,900 won (US ৭ 1.60) from a store in Evanson on different days. One of them was charged with stealing chocolates and the other with hats.
An employee of the store lodged a complaint with the police after the hat was stolen. Police later saw CCTV footage confirming that the suspect was a Pakistani embassy official.
The police closed the case as the embassy official had diplomatic immunity. Police said an investigation was underway against another official who was under diplomatic immunity.

Madaripur: A father strangled his son to death in Kalkini of Madaripur. Later, the father was rescued and admitted to Sadar Hospital. The incident took place in Gopalpur area of Kalkini upazila on Sunday night.
Kalkini Police Station OC Istiaq Asfaq Russell said Minara, wife of Tofazzal Hossain of Gopalpur in Kalkini, Madaripur, recently had an extramarital affair with Abdur Rashid, a tea seller in the same area. A month and a half ago, Minara Begum left with Rashid, a tea seller. Later, Tofazzel’s mental anguish began. Fearing public embarrassment, Tofazzal plans to remove the boy and himself from the world. Accordingly, around 10 pm on Sunday, Tofazzal killed his son Ronnie by cutting his throat with a sharp weapon. Later he drank poison. Upon receiving the news, the police came and recovered the body of the deceased Rony and sent it to the District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Besides, Tofazzal was rescued and admitted to the hospital for treatment. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
Joypurhat: A mother died after her son hit her with a brick in a trivial incident with her daughter-in-law. Joypurhat Sadar Police arrested the boy in the incident. The incident took place at Paschim Komar village of Bambu union in Joypurhat Sadar upazila. According to police and area sources, mother-in-law Sufia Begum had a quarrel with her son’s wife Reneka Begum over removing ashes from the cooking stove just before Iftar on Sunday. At that time, his son Ujjwal Hossain Chowdhury angrily picked up a brick in the yard and hit his mother on the head. Mother Sufia Begum was seriously injured on the spot. Locals rescued him and admitted him to Joypurhat District Modern Hospital. When his condition deteriorated there, he was taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra on Sunday night. Sufia Begum died at around 3:30 pm on Sunday while undergoing treatment there. Police arrested Ujjwal Hossain Chowdhury and took him into police custody. Ujjwal’s wife Reneka Begum is absconding. Joypurhat Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Alamgir Jahan confirmed the incident and said a case was being filed with the police station.
