Lauren Booth, sister-in-law of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, is a human rights activist and journalist by profession. In his early life he was a Christian. Lauren Booth was born in 1966 in London. As a media person, he traveled to different Muslim regions of the world and became a fan of Islam and Muslims. Palestinian President Ismail Haniyeh granted him Palestinian citizenship in 2006 because of Booth’s strong position on Palestinian rights. When he converted to Islam in 2010, the news spread widely in the international media.
About her conversion to Islam, Lauren Booth said that a Palestinian family invited her to Iftar. The family is very poor and helpless. They didn’t even have food that day. But there was excitement and love in the heart of the woman of that house. The Palestinian woman greeted me in her room as if she were not in an alley in the Gaza Strip, but as she was welcoming me into the Taj Mahal. He said to me with a very smiling face, “Assalamu Alaikum.”
I ask him, how are you spending Ramadan with little food in Rafa area? He said ‘Alhamdulillah’ with a smile. I sit inside the tent and start eating. I started eating a little bread and hummus at home. I am very angry in my mind. This is the kind of creator who told the hungry to be more hungry. Rosa has also provided for the poorest people in the world! It was summer then. It was very hot. I said, with the utmost respect, I will ask you, why did your Creator instruct Rosa? Why do you fast in Ramadan?
